Daffodils Montessori was started in 2001 by retired teachers and past pupils of Lady Brabourne College, Our Lady Queen of the Missions, Don Bosco and Loreto.
The aim of the school was to prepare the child in a playful atmosphere by play way method to face the admission test of different schools. Most of the students were admitted to some renowned schools of Kolkata, like Don Bosco, St. Xavier's, St. James', Loreto, Our Lady Queen of the Missions, among others.
Since the administrators were experienced teachers with more than 100 years of collective experience among themselves, they knew what was expected of the child and how to prepare them for it. As the faculty was doing voluntary service without charging any salary, the school fees was very less, just Rs. 200/- in 2001.
The school now has Air-conditioned classrooms, CCTV Cameras and Smart TVs in each classroom. The fees has increased over this period of time to Rs. 1100/- per month.
Daffodils Montessori started in 2001 with its students studying in only 2 classrooms. Due to the increased demand of parents since, 2 new schools have been formed Daffodils High School and The Ken Academy.
The School now has more than 800 students studying in 25 rooms in 2 shifts.
