About Us
Daffodils Montessori was established in 2001 by a group of retired teachers and former students from renowned Kolkata institutions like Lady Brabourne College, Our Lady Queen of the Missions, Don Bosco, and Loreto. Their vision was to create a nurturing environment where children could develop essential skills through play-based learning.
The school's primary goal was to prepare young learners for the competitive admission tests of prestigious schools in Kolkata, such as Don Bosco, St. Xavier's, St. James', Loreto, and Our Lady Queen of the Missions. With a combined teaching experience of over 100 years, the administrators had a deep understanding of the expectations and requirements for successful academic performance.
To keep costs low and accessible to families, the school was initially operated by volunteer faculty members. The minimal fee of Rs. 200 per month in 2001 allowed many parents to enroll their children.
Over the years, Daffodils Montessori has expanded significantly to meet the growing demand for quality education. The school now boasts air-conditioned classrooms, CCTV cameras, and smart TVs in each room. While the fees have increased to Rs. 1100 per month, they remain competitive compared to other schools in the area.
The success of Daffodils Montessori has led to the establishment of two additional schools: Daffodils High School and The Ken Academy. Today, the school serves over 800 students across 25 classrooms in two shifts.
